Tips For Theater
Managers/Operators |
Determining the proper dimmer setting for step nose lighting can be tricky. Increasing the tread light level to the maximum will create a glare that causes the step nose to lose definition. Decreasing the tread dimmer setting to about 30% will allow your patrons to see where they are going without eliminating stair definition. An example of this can be seen in the photo on the right.
As you can see, the tread light level at the bottom of the stairs is at full brightness causing the step noses to appear to have flattened out, while the upper part of the staircase is at about 30% brightness and the step noses can clearly be seen.
